According to existing research, pursuing higher education in itself increases your life expectancy and the quality of life in those additional years. You’re more likely to “live long and prosper,” as Spock would say in Star Trek. But we all are practicing habits or lifestyles that limit our quality of life, increase our chances for disease, or impair our emotional and physical well-being.
This week, put some thought into how you might make one small change in your life that could make even a small impact toward greater well-being. This could be related to nutrition, exercise, a healthy coping strategy like meditation or yoga, personal counseling, or anything else you think would be a good fit and realistic for you to achieve and maintain.
Present research findings that were discussed in your required reading for this week if possible. Also, discuss findings from at least one other source that support how your goal can help you “disrupt your default American lifestyle” and lead you on a path to greater well-being.
